About the Model Shop |
Guild Members! Be a hero! |
In partnership with the Maritime Museum of San Diego, the Guild administers the Museum Model Shop aboard the steam ferry BERKELEY. The Shop is manned by Guild Members (subject to availability) on a volunteer basis.
The Model Shop features four separate workstations at which projects in various stages of completion can be seen. The Model Shop also includes a large inventory of modeling tools, supplies, and reference material. On slow days request a tour of this unique space harboring decades of modeling experience.

Model of the Quarter
|
|
Every three months the Guild displays a Member's completed model as the "Model of the Quarter"; this model resides just outside the Shop's front door for a three month viewing.
The initial Model of the Quarter was Tom Hairston's ~1/7"=1' 1:80 scale double plank on frame model of the MARY ROSE, a carack-type warship commissioned by King Henry VIII of England.
Guild Members: check the schedule here and submit your build!
